Tinned copper flat wires are widely used in the solar power industry as interconnect ribbons which are soldered onto the silicon cell – take away the energy produced photoelectrically. The connection of these interconnect ribbons with the rectifier takes place via the so-called busbars – slightly larger copper ribbons that are also tinned.
Raytron provides our customers who produce PV interconnect ribbons and busbars with copper flat wire rolled from round copper wire. The rolled ribbons are spooled into coils and then annealed and tinned in later processes.
Raytron's copper and copper-clad aluminum flat wire is provided with an extra high width-to-thickness ratio of up to 100 times and extremely low yield strength of lower than 70Mp. High dimensional accuracy and straightness are also guaranteed
